Under the supervision Administrative Judge of the Criminal Division, all of the judges are assigned criminal cases. The division uses an individual calendar for the criminal case. Under this system all criminal cases are individually assigned to the criminal judges. The criminal judges are responsible for all cases from the moment of assignment until the final disposition, which may include post-trial motions .
Homicide cases are divided among the active judges, and certain matters, including probation and parole violations and Post Conviction Relief Act matters, are referred to the judge who initially heard the case, even when that judge is currently serving in another division.
